Children's Centres provide a range of early years and childcare services to local families, all year round. They provide service like:
- day care and early education
- family health services including ante-natal and post-natal care
- parenting and family support services
- support for children with additional or special educational needs
- outreach services such as, home visits and community support
In Bristol there are are two specialist Children's Centres.
- Ilminster Avenue Specialist Nursery School and Children's Centre
- Long Cross Specialist Children's Centre
These Children's Centres offer play and stay groups for children with special educational needs or a disability. Find out more from their websites.
Registered childminders can look after children of any age. This is usually in the childminder’s own home.
Some registered childminders become enhanced childminders. These childminders have specialist training in caring for children with special educational needs or training.
Nurseries, preschools and play groups
These are common early years provisions that offer families children an opportunity to learn through play in group settings.
