About the Organisation
What makes Henleaze Junior School such a special place? Children who are enthusiastic, polite, caring and eager to learn. Staff who are talented, committed and who are all great team workers. Parents who are supportive to the school and to each other, who want the best for their children and who understand the importance of partnership between home and school. Governors who are dedicated to the task of making sure that the school maintains its reputation for excellence whilst striving always to improve and move forwards.
In 2011 we became an Academy – directly funded by the Department for Education, and no longer under the control of Bristol City Council. We believe that this gives us greater freedom both to deliver outstanding education and care for our children, and to work with other schools in the city, and with Bristol Children and Young People’s Services, to raise standards and expectations citywide.
