About the Organisation

* Practical Services: Basic home and garden maintenance, vetted trades person list and home shopping scheme.

* Information and Advice Service: Free, confidential advice for older people. Aims to alleviate pensioner poverty and inform people of their rights.

* Link Up: A befriending scheme that aims to help isolated older people to build their confidence and get involved in activities outside the home.

* New Beginnings Day Centre provides a range of activities, good food, and transport for older people in South Bristol.

* Housing Support provides support to enable older people to remain independent in their own homes.

* New basic foot care service for older people.

* Community Development Project: Getting older people in South Bristol engaged in their local communities.

* Beginners Computer Learning Courses: 5 weeks courses which go over all of the basics of using a computer as well as looking into
writing letters and using the internet. Cost £10.

* Insurance and Trading: Home Insurance, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Gas and Electricity, Funeral Plans, Aid-Call Personal
Alarm, Holidays, Age UK Weekly Lottery, Legal Services, Independent Financial Advice – from the Cooperative Independent Financial Advisors*, Charity Flowers.

10:00-13:00 Monday to Thursday, Tues 10am – 3.30

Age Concern Bristol requires volunteers for a wide range of services such as the Link Up Scheme; advice line; gardening; handy work; the New Beginnings Day Centre and general office support. Please contact the office for further details.
