About the Organisation
We believe that, although there is no ‘cure’ for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, people who are affected by them, can be helped to adjust to the world around them. By doing so, both the individuals and the community can benefit from the unique perspectives and abilities that people living on the Autistic Spectrum have to offer.
We are committed to equal opportunities for all and the development of a working partnership with professionals and with other voluntary organisations.
We attend meetings, to represent the views and raise concerns of parents and carer's living in North Somerset, with the Local Education Authority, the Local Health Authority and Social Services. We keep in contact with other groups. Informal support group meetings. These are an opportunity for parents & professionals to meet each other. We welcome anyone who has concerns and would like to know more about this condition. No diagnosis is necessary.
We meet, during term time, once a month, from 10 am to 12 noon . Please phone to confirm as the time and date may change. We hold talks and presentations, produce newsletters and we have a library of books & videos.
