About the Organisation
Amana Education Trust provides a comprehensive range of services designed to improve the quality of life of Somalis living in Bristol. Its services target covering the needs of a highly disadvantaged community, this varies from educational support services to children, to employment support and advice for adults. A core component of our work releates to the development of strong links between the Somali community and other communities and organisations. There are four main areas:
1 Supplementary School- raising achievement and attainment. Offers Maths, English and Science tuition for KS2, 3 and 4.
2 Youth services- delivering a comprehensive range of activities and learning experiences.
3 - Parental support- providing parents with support and trainging to help them engage with schools and and their childrens education.
4 Employement advice and support- Working with members of the community to access FE or training for work or gainful employment.
It is an organsation made up of over 60 volunteers contributing over 15,000 hrs pa.
