About the Organisation

The Child Brain Injury Trust (Cbit) supports children, young people and families affected by an acquired brain injury to enable them to achieve their potential.

*We have recently moved into the South West with a dedicated Child and Family Support Coordinator based in Bristol.*

We tailor our support to the individual family needs and our support services include:
Individual emotional and practical support to families affected by an child's acquired brain injury
Dedicated national helpline (0303 303 2248 or email helpline@cbituk.org)
School assistance e.g. peer support training, support strategies training
Sibling support
Family events
"Give a child a Chance" small grants scheme
Regional access to expert legal advice.

The charity also has a lot of resources which have been produced by experts and written in a way that is easy to understand. Our website which contains practical information for families and professionals, including a number of factsheets and publications on the issues which families may experience.

The trust provides conferences, family events and training seminars for teachers, health professionals and parents.
